I'm DanI've poured my entire life into roller coasters and it's been the best ride ever.
My passion for the amusement industry was sparked at a young age during family trips to the local park, Valleyfair and nearby Cedar Point. Although riding coasters was a rush, as time went on, I found more enjoyment from building my own out of K'NEX, Lego, and any other material I could get my hands on that somewhat resembled rails and a car. Having a career path set in my mind since I was 6, it was a no brainer to attend school for a degree in Mechanical Engineering. During my time at Iowa State University (2015-2019), I had incredible opportunities to become exposed to 3D printing, co-found the ISU Theme Park Entertainment Group, and work at Premier Rides as a Mechanical Engineering Intern. Through these experiences, I was able to further my knowledge and gain invaluable insights into the ins and outs of the roller coaster design process. Today I'm thrilled to say that I work as a design engineer at Rocky Mountain Construction, helping develop the next generation of products and innovations. I’m currently taking a break from designing and 3D printing my own creations, but will be sure to share any future projects! |
